Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Sean McCallister, during their recent meeting, updated the hospital board on what’s been happening at the facility since their last meeting in June.

McCallister announced that there were two new people filling positions in the healthcare center.

He reminded the board thatBighorn Pediatrics will be opening a new clinic in Buffalo, and with three clinics operating here, there won’t be many patients to go around, but he believes the JCHC will be well-poised with their reputation and experience to stand out.

McCallister said the facility’s volunteers were really excited to get back to work, so they have re-opened the Happy Apple Gift Shop.

McCallister said he will be bringing information concerning their proposed “Family Medicine Position Model” to show the board what they are envisioning in the program for better serving the community.

The healthcare center has been approached by at least two physicians about possible openings at the healthcare center.

Although they aren’t actively recruiting, McCallister said they are interviewing and at least looking into the possibility of adding to staff if the opportunity presents itself.
