Secretary Gray Denies AI on the Ballot
According to information from the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office, n May 29th, the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming entered an order denying a motion for a temporary restraining order filed by Victor Miller, which challenged the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Office’s rejection of Miller’s application for nomination for United States Senate.
Miller’s application was rejected for failure to comply with the ballot name requirements under Wyoming law. In consultation with the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office, the Office requested the application be resubmitted in conformance with Wyoming law, and that Miller clarify he was a qualified elector, rather than an AI bot.
An application conforming with Wyoming law was never submitted. The Order found that Miller is not likely to succeed on the merits, and he was not irreparably harmed. Secretary of State Chuck Gray.
Miller, in 2024, was unsuccessful in his bid for Mayor of Cheyenne. Miller’s story gained national media coverage, as he pledged to let an AI bot named “Vic” run the City if he were elected Mayor.
