Buffalo Council Approves mayor’s Appointment to Charitable Foundation
Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader named his choice for appointment to the Buffalo Charitable Foundation, asking the city council to approve the re-appointment.
The council voted to approve the re-appointment of Travis Lawrence.
According to the city website, the Buffalo Charitable Foundation was established in 1981 to receive, distribute, and administer funds for scientific, educational, and charitable purposes; and specifically to solicit, collect, and otherwise raise money for charitable, philanthropic, and benevolent purposes; to establish, equip, maintain, and operate playgrounds and parks for children; to encourage the organization and establishment of parks and playgrounds by the City of Buffalo, and other public authorities; to expend, contribute, disburse, and otherwise handle and dispose of the same for such purposes, either directly or indirectly by contributions to other agencies, organizations, or institutions organized for the same or similar purposes.
