Sheridan County’s Commissioners and Sheridan City Council members held a special joint meeting Tuesday to discuss a number of topics of concern for both, to try to find common ways to move forward on them.

Topics discussed included the Comprehensive Plans for both the city and county and how they can work together for the benefit of both; SAWS; public restrooms in the region; and the annexation and subdivision process and coordination between the city and county.

Also discussed was the proposed new event center at the fairgrounds, as explained by Commissioner Nick Siddle.

They also talked about the need for an expansion of seating at the rodeo arena and the coming 100th Anniversary of the WYO Rodeo in a few years.

Although no decisions were made by them, there was agreement between the governmental agencies to form committees to discuss the issues further and bring information back to the committee as a whole.

The next meeting for the city and county leaders will be April 14 at Sheridan City Hall.
