JCSD1 Board Votes to Move Forward on Possible Reorganization
The Johnson County School Board has been contemplating the idea of reorganizing the board to bring the number of trustees down to seven, from its current nine-member board.
They board took public comment at a special meeting last week, and discussed the issue further at their regular meeting this week.
Trustee Dave Belus commented on the possibility.
Superintendent Charles Auzqui reminded the board that their decision during the meeting, if they chose to move forward with reducing the board, would just be the beginning of the process.
The trustees voted to move forward with reducing the board to seven members on a 6 to 3 vote.
