BPD Chief Bissett Reports Child Abuse Case, End-of-Year Numbers

In addition to a recent unusual case involving an individual who tried to harm himself, Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett also reported another incident that happened the same night.

Bissett then gave some end-of-the-year totals from his department for 2025.

He reported they handled just shy of 30,000 calls into the 9-1-1 center, saying he felt that was a lot of volume for seven employees.

He said officers responded to 8,036 incidents and made 75 arrests during from those calls during the year.

Bissett said the department is getting busier and busier but they are fully staffed and running well.
