The Reno Incident Fire in southern Johnson County is 100% contained as of Tuesday afternoon, according to County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly.

Connolly gave an update Tuesday morning, saying the size of the fire was at 11,600 acres mostly on private lands.

There were roughly 60 firefighters on scene from Natrona, Laramie, Campbell, Goshen, Park, Washakie and Johnson Counties as well as equipment and personnel from private contractors, but they were expected to demobilize those crews later in the day.

Connolly said Johnson County Fire Warden Tom Camino presented a partial fire restriction to the county commission at their Tuesday meeting which was approved and will go into effect on Friday, June 19th.

We will have that information when released by the county.

The fire is believed to have been lightning-caused, starting Saturday evening June 13th, with reports of a fire coming early Sunday morning.

It was believed to have been mostly contained at 100 to 200 acres but hot, dry, and windy conditions quickly spread the grass fire.
