Wyoming District Court Upholds Election Integrity Laws

Published

In a ruling Friday, Wyoming District Court Judge Nathaniel Hibben granted summary judgment in favor of Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray. The ruling upholds Wyoming’s ban on crossover voting, and Wyoming’s “sore loser” law, which bans unsuccessful primary candidates from running as independents. Secretary Gray said the ruling granting their motion for summary judgment is a huge win for the integrity of Wyoming’s elections.

Judge Hibben’s ruling means that both election integrity laws will remain in effect for the 2026 election cycle. The ruling can be appealed to the Wyoming Supreme Court.
