U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), Senate Majority Whip, spoke on the Senate Floor Thursday, recognizing National Coal Week and Wyoming’s energy workers who power the nation. Barrasso also previewed the University of Wyoming’s 117th Border War football game this weekend against Colorado State University. The Cowboys will wear special jerseys and will be led onto the field by Wyoming coal miners.

Also on Wednesday, U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) led Senator Barrasso (R-WY) in introducing the Combating Obstruction Against Leasing or COAL Act. This legislation codifies President Trump’s coal executive order, directing the Secretary of the Interior to expedite coal leasing processes and eliminate administrative delays related to qualified coal lease application. The COAL Act comes during National Coal Week, a resolution led by Senator Lummis to honor the nation’s coal industry.

In case you didn’t notice, nobody wants your damn dirty coal. How about a celebration of renewable energy instead, you know so your grandchildren will actually be able to breathe.

Those Teslas and computers need tons of clean-coal-generated
