Sheridan Man Sentenced for Property Destruction and Defacement

A sentencing hearing for 29-year-old Roger Mohns was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Last July, Mohns was arrested and charged with Felony Property Destruction and Defacement for causing extensive damage to another individual’s vehicle. At a change of plea hearing in April, Mohns entered a “no contest” plea pursuant to terms of a plea agreement reached with the State. District Court Judge John Fenn accepted the terms of the plea deal, and sentenced Mohns to 2.5 to 4 years in prison, suspended, in lieu of three years of supervised probation.

Judge Fenn also ordered Mohns to pay $2,500 in restitution and $310 in various court costs and fees. The restitution amount must be paid in full within two weeks, and the court costs and fees must be paid in full within 45 days.
