The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Town of Ranchester’s new locomotive caboose Airbnb with an Ambassadors’ ribbon cutting Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025.  The newly remodeled 1972 train caboose, located next to Ranchester Town Hall at 145 Coffeen St., has been transformed into a fully livable space and is Wyoming’s only locomotive Airbnb. Originally gifted to the town, the caboose was fully renovated by two Ranchester employees. The Town of Ranchester owns the property but has partnered with a concessionaire to manage bookings, ensuring that proceeds flow back into the community.
