Sheridan County to Amend Zoning Rules For Solar Energy Permits

Sheridan County has approved a Notice of Intent to amend the county rules and regulations governing zoning and to adopt new rules for commercial solar energy permits.

County Planner Mark Reid explained that this will amend county regulations and adopt recently adopted Wyoming State Statutes concerning permitting solar energy facilities that produce more than one-half megawatt of electricity.

The commission will receive more information in the coming weeks leading up to the planned public hearing on July 7th at 9am in the Commissioners Board Room.

Written comments can also be sent to the County Public Works Department no later than July 6th.
