Senator Barrasso on Additional Stimulus Funding
U.S. Senator John Barrasso recently weighed-in on the possibility of an additional stimulus package in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said late last week that it is very likely that Congress will need to pass additional legislation to stimulate the U.S. economy during the pandemic. He added that the funding wouldn’t necessarily be needed immediately, as Congress must first identify exactly how the funding should be allocated. U.S. Senator for Wyoming John Barrasso, said that it’s still too early to tell what kind of package would be needed.
Barrasso talked about some things that he’d like to see in any kind of additional stimulus package.
The U.S. Department of Labor reported that another 2.4 million people filed for unemployment last week. Since March, nearly 39 million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits.
