Pat BlairConstruction of the John C. Schiffer Collaborative School is progressing really well.
That’s according to Mathers Heuck, Sheridan County School District 2 facilities director.
Heuck said the project is scheduled for substantial completion in July 2021 and will be ready for students when school starts in fall of that year.
Contractor is Groathouse Construction of Cody, and cost of the project is just over $8 million.
The school will be just under 20,000 square feet and is designed to accommodate 117 students. While being built for Sheridan County School District 2, the intent from the beginning has been that the Schiffer school would be able to accommodate students not only from District 2 but from Sheridan County School districts 1 and 3 and the Johnson County school district as well.
Site of the school is just south of Sheridan College, east of the Watt Ag Center.
