Jorgensen promoted to WHP Captain

Erik Jorgensen with the Wyoming Highway Patrol has been promoted to the rank of Captain.

Jorgensen has been an eight year contributor to Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program; an extra duty he has enjoyed. Through the program the Captain has alerted the public to risks on the road, weather conditions, updated the multimedia company on travel conditions, safety tips and much, much more.

Recently, Jorgensen was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain which will expand his duty area as well as increase the number of Wyoming Highway Patrol Troopers under his command.

After serving proudly in Iraq with the Wyoming Army National Guard, Jorgensen took a job as a dispatcher. But after only a few months made the decision to transition to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. For 18 years Jorgensen has enjoyed his duties as a trooper and officer on the Interstate and highways of the Cowboy State.

Jorgensen will remain in Sheridan but the Captain’s new duties will require his time to be spent in much more office based supervisory capacity. Jorgensen said he will return to the roads during the busy season and when time allows.

A Lieutenant will eventually replace Capt. Jorgensen on Public Pulse, but he assured listeners that replacement will be a few months down the road.

Sheridan Media would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Captain on his promotion and thank him for his many contributions to the Public Pulse program.
