Buffalo Council Votes to Set Mill Levy for 2025-26

The Buffalo City Council, during their last meeting, voted to set the annual mill levy for fiscal year 2025-26.
Mayor Shane Schrader explained what the raised taxes would be used for.
Property taxes collected by the county are distributed to the city and town governments through the requested mill levies.
In an earlier story, City Clerk Julie Silbernagel said the city receives about $450,000 annually from the eight mills, but it does vary from year to year.
Municipal governments are allowed up to eight mills by the State of Wyoming to fund their operations.
Silbernagel said the majority of funding the city receives for annual operations comes from sales taxes.
