The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), in a release, gave an update on the Buffalo Main Street Project, saying the project so far is “ahead of schedule.”

According to the release, they will be making changes to the traffic plan in the downtown corridor beginning Wednesday morning.

Main Street from Fort Street to the north side of the Clear Creek Bridge will be open.

From the bridge to Angus Street, traffic will snake from east to west to accommodate utility and sidewalk work to be done in front of First Northern Bank and the In Color Building across from Crazy Woman Square.

Utility work will begin next week between the north side of Fort Street and Holland Street, and motorists should be prepared for traffic switches during the next few weeks until work moves past Trail Street.

Motorists will have unimproved surfaces throughout the work zone until the contractor is able to pave, which is scheduled for the beginning of May.

West Fetterman and Angus Streets will have intermittent closures.

WYDOT will provide more information and answer questions during a public meeting scheduled for Thursday evening beginning at 5 p.m. at the Johnson County Fire Hall.

Questions, comments, or concerns can be sent to Laura Dalles, Senior Public Relations Specialist with WYDOT District 4 by calling (307) 752-3022, or by email at laura.dalles@wyo.gov.
