Pat BlairStarting Friday, law enforcement agencies across Wyoming will host a Virtual Torch Run to benefit Special Olympics Wyoming.
The event will continue through July 15.
This year’s Special Olympics State Summer Games have been canceled due to physical distancing guidelines, but law enforcement personnel, Special Olympics athletes, their families and friends are encouraged to participate virtually – by walking or running outside or on a treadmill, exercising on an elliptical or cycling.
The goals are to engage more officers and athletes, reach 2,020 miles and raise $20,200. Participants are encouraged to track their miles, take a picture or record a short video and post their efforts online to the Wyoming Law Enforcement Torch Run Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/LETR4S0WY.
T-shirts are available online at www.SpecialOlympicsWY.org.
