Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced that all trailheads at Red Grade Trails are now open.
SCLT is advising the community to be aware that trail damage still exists in areas that are under snow and may not be visible. Visitors are being asked to tread lightly as some portions of the following trails were impacted by fire suppression activities.
• Prairie’s Edge
• Tip of the Woods
• Updraft
These areas will be repaired as weather conditions allow.
SCLT wishes to acknowledge the tireless efforts of those fighting the fire and recent snowfall which kept the Elk Fire from spreading deeper into the forest. According to the Land Trust, this snowfall will likely prevent SCLT from fully assessing all the trails’ conditions. That assessment and any work needed will most likely take place next spring.
SCLT is asking those that visit Red Grade Trails, to please follow all posted rules and observe posted trail closures, as they are there to protect visitors and the land.
