A cinematic spoof of the sci/fi horror movies from the days of the silver screen, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a musical rip of the B-movie genre that became a cult classic.

Trident Theatre Director Aaron Odom and cast members Laura Thorn, JJ Reign, David Britton, Michael Sandvig and Jeremiah Young made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite the community to bring out their inner freak and take a trip over to the Frankenstein Place.

Costumes of all kinds are welcome and audience participation is both encouraged and a tradition. The so-called “science-fiction double feature” will play a limited one-day only run during the spookiest night of the year.

Odom said during the original run of the film in 1975, it bombed. But according to IMDb, midnight screenings became popular in the mid-1970s, and that popularity spread by word of mouth. Soon, it began showing at midnight in a few cities, and became so popular that it has been shown continuously in movie theaters since 1975, making it the longest theatrical run of a movie in history.
