Ron RichterThe elevator at Sheridan City Hall will be out of commission for a short time later this month while it is being updated. Last December, the City Council approved a contract with Otis Elevator Company to perform major maintenance on the elevator in the amount of $169,250. City Administrator Stu McRae said the major maintenance will begin on Monday, September 16 and continue through Friday, October 4.
City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer said the major maintenance is needed because the components of the elevator are obsolete and not replaceable. The elevator at City Hall was installed in 1987.
