Tongue River Reservoir State Park is no longer under Big Horn County’s mandatory evacuation order today. Nearby fires are contained enough for the park to operate normally. Air quality is not perfect but has improved. The marina is open. The park, which was largely full Thursday, had been cleared that morning after the Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office instituted a mandatory evacuation for the area. Conditions had improved enough Friday that the order was lifted.

Please recreate responsibly, as Big Horn County and the park are still under Stage 1 fire restrictions, as are many counties across the state For statewide updates, visit FWP’s restrictions and closures page at https://fwp.mt.gov/news/current-closures-restrictions
