Mayor Miller Discusses CARES Act Funding and Management Council Meeting
The Wyoming Legislature’s Management Council met all day Thursday to discuss the legislative response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the likelihood of the Legislature convening for a special session. Sheridan Mayor Roger Miller listened in on the meeting and said that he reached out to several members of the local delegation regarding the CARES Act funding that the state will be receiving in the amount of $1.25 billion.
The Council discussed holding a short, limited session early next month to address immediate needs coupled with a possible longer session in June to work on additional support and response programs. Mayor Miller said that he’s proud of the way the people in Sheridan have handled themselves during the pandemic.
Governor Gordon’s three public health orders are in effect until the end of the month. Gordon said at a recent news conference that a decision on easing the restrictions will be driven by data.
