The Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced a Discovery Session will explore the plants of Bear Gulch.
SCLT is calling all “Flower Finders” and “Plant Peepers” for a fun evening on the mountain, where they will learn how to identify many of the plants that grow in our beautiful Bighorns backyard. Accompanied by botanist Bob Giurgevich, the group will embark on a leisurely walk along the trail, where he will share expert identification tips and tantalizing tidbits about the plants..
The event begins 6 -7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 as participants meet at Bear Gulch East Trailhead at Red Grade Trails. SCLT advises that should the parking lot be full, please park carefully along the side of the road.
SCLT recommends bringing comfortable shoes, clothes, and water. This walk will be about 1.75 to 2 miles long. It is easy to moderately difficult, with some stone steps along the trail.
This Discovery Session is free to attend and open to all ages. SCLT welcomes everyone, from seasoned plant enthusiasts to those just starting their nature journey, to join them for this enriching experience.
