Chief Travis Koltiska and Captain Tom Ringley of the Sheridan Police Department thanked the public as well as the owners and operators of local bars for ensuring the last few years of Sheridan WYO Rodeo celebrations have been safe and fun.
As Sheridan gears-up for another year of good times and entertainment throughout the city, the SPD Captain has asked the public to ensure they have a safe ride home before engaging in the festivities. Driving Under the Influence citation numbers have decreased over the years, a trend the SPD would like to continue.

Chief Koltiska said driving under the influence is the greatest threat to public safety. Ringley said it comes down to common sense and good planning.

According to a recent study in Forbes, while every DUI is different, there are many factors that contribute to the costs of a DUI in 2024 and could cost offenders $20,000 or more.
