Science Kids and the Sheridan Community Land Trust will Unplug: Birds on the Move on from 5-6 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, at the SCLT Office, located at 14 Lane Lane, just outside Sheridan.
The two organizations are inviting the public to embrace the arrival of spring with a unique opportunity to learn from Dr. Julie Rieder of Science Kids.
Join a leisurely walk through pastures and along Big Goose Creek, observing and listening to birds as they migrate north to their summer nesting grounds. The walk will offer opportunities to enhance birding skills, and gain confidence in distinguishing warblers from finches and chickadees. Spring is an ideal time for birdwatching, with the trees still bare and the birds adorned in their vibrant breeding plumage.
SCLT recommends that attendees dress appropriately for the weather, and if you have binoculars, bring them along. SCLT will also provide some for use.
Unplug with Discovery Sessions are free programs for children ages 2 to 102.
