President of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association and Johnson County Commission Chair Bill Novotny made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse asking the public to review the Bureau of Land Management’s new draft plan to strengthen greater sage-grouse conservation and management on public lands.
The documents total more than 1,600 pages according to the Johnson County Commission Chair, but Novotny told listeners the inclusion of Johnson County residents into the conversation cannot be emphasized enough.

According to the BLM, the draft environmental impact statement and plan amendments opened for public comment on March 15, 2024. That comment period will end on June 13, 2024.
Novotny is asking the public to comment and get involved, saying the impacts of the proposed changes will be felt by Johnson County residents for years to come while the BLM is discounting local partners.
