Sheridan Producers Create Virtual Farmers Market

A virtual farmers market, where people can shop online and have products delivered to them once a week, has been established in the Sheridan area.

The idea started with Adam Bunker and his father-in-law, Joe Wesnitzer, who grow lettuce year-round in their greenhouses. Operating as Papa Joe’s Produce, Bunker said they usually sell their lettuce at in-person farmers’ markets.

As a result, Bunker said, the decision was made to build and launch the virtual market. Bolstered by eight other producers in the area, along with Two-Bit Ranch which is the Highland cattle side of Papa Joe’s Produce, the website offers over 50 products ranging from lettuce to grass-fed beef, milk, a variety of homemade jellies and jams, homemade salsas, pickled beets and pickled asparagus, coffee from Manchester St. Coffee in Sheridan and more.

Bunker said orders can be placed any time but must be placed by 4 p.m. Thursday for delivery on the next Saturday. He said deliveries at this time are on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon.

Partners in the venture include Box Cross Road Farms, Lower Piney Heirloom Vegetable Gardens, Manchester St. Coffee, PepperKing, Rocking Chair Farms, Shiloh Valley Family Farm and Zorumske Creations.

Those who want to place orders can go online to https://papajoesproduce.com/shop-local-foods/.

Fantastic new development! So grateful to be able to get farm fresh produce and dairy, again! I just put in an order and it [the website] was slick as snot on a door knob…(probably not the best image given our situation, but, it came to mind from years ago…)
