Ron RichterDaylight saving time is this weekend, where we will change our clocks ahead one hour. It is also a good time to check your smoke alarms. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Check Your Smoke Alarms
Checking the batteries and working condition of your smoke alarm is usually a simple, easy task, but also one that is often overlooked. Sheridan Fire Chief Gary Harnish said daylight saving time is a good reminder to check your smoke alarms.
Harnish said most smoke alarms need to be replaced every 10 years.
Harnish said it’s good practice to test your smoke alarms once a month. He added that if you need help changing your batteries or would like to request a free smoke alarm, you can contact Sheridan Fire Rescue at (307) 674-7244 to request assistance and/or a smoke alarm.
