JCHC Opens COVID-19 Evaluation Center

The Johnson County Healthcare Center (JCHC) hosted a media briefing Monday morning to update the community on the latest preparations for COVID-19.

One main topic was the opening of the COVID Evaluation Center that opened Monday.

The hospital has expanded their ability to deal with the virus in the county with the evaluation center, which can evaluate patients from their vehicle or in an isolated part of the hospital.

Hospital CEO Sean McCallister wanted to make clear that clinic and hospital protocols are still in place requiring people to call in advance for an over-the-phone screening prior to arriving.

McCallister said the phone screening process is critical to protect the healthcare team at the facility so they can continue to provide healthcare services for the community, and also to protect the public.
