Electrical Code Ordinance Receives First Reading Approval by City Council

On July 1, 2023, the State of Wyoming formally adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code. In order to maintain home rule status the City of Sheridan has six months to adopt the same codes. Home rule allows the City’s building department to review and approve building plans and perform all necessary inspections, which allows the City to provide a much higher quality of service than the state would be able to provide locally. First reading of an ordinance to adopt the new electrical code was unanimously approved by the City Council at their meeting Monday night. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer.
