In October, the Wyoming Arts Council announced the recipients of the Creative Aging Project grant. These Creative Aging programs are designed to provide arts education and social engagement opportunities for the Cowboy State’s older adults.
In total, $125,000 was distributed to 20 nonprofits to develop a total of 50 eight-week programs.
Here in Sheridan County, The Hub on Smith and the Sheridan Fulmer Public Library both received $10,000. The WYO Performing Arts and Education Center received $7,500.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Program Coordinator for the Sheridan County Library System Denise Gillenwater said the watercolor and drawing art classes have filled up. But she encourages anyone interested in attending the classes to make a call to the Fulmer Library and get on a waiting list.

There is no cost for attendance and the cost of materials has been covered by the Creative Aging Project grant.
Gillenwater said it has afforded many aging residents in Sheridan to connect with each other, learn a new art skill and create amazing works.
To join the waiting list, call the Sheridan Fulmer Library at 307-674-8585 or email them by clicking here.
