The 11th annual Behind the Picket Fence Market occurred on Saturday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. The event held more than 40 vendors, which led to various wares and products ranging from jewelry and art to repurposed furniture and handcrafted goods. Java Gypsey and Curds of Wyoming catered the event, encouraging the customers to stay a little longer to browse the options.

The market was an excellent excuse to get out on a Sunday and start holiday shopping with a bang. Terri Walton, one of the event’s organizers, chatted about how the event occurred during the Sheridan Bronc state football game and gave her thoughts on whether it affected the number of people in attendance.

Walton briefly explained the amount of preparation it takes to set up an event like this with forty-plus vendors in an area with limited space, such as the Exhibit hall.

The Behind the Picket Fence Market was an extreme success and an excellent reminder of all the amazing items made locally in Sheridan and surrounding areas. Walton even had a chance to talk about the construction on Main Street and encouraged citizens to shop locally for the holidays.
