According to court documents, Germer, a convicted felon on probation, was found in possession of a Walther pistol, several different calibers of ammunition and suspected suppressors, when probation officers conducted a routine search of his home. The crime was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
