JCSD1 Closes Schools Due to Coronavirus Concerns

Published

Johnson County schools will be closed from Monday, March 16th through Thursday, March 19th, according to school board member Marcy Schueler.

The district had originally planned to stay open but district Superintendent Jim Wagner made the decision late Sunday night to close schools district-wide.

Earlier Sunday, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jillian Balow recommended that all school districts in the state close until at least April 3rd, leaving the decision to close up to the individual districts in the state.

All Johnson County Schools will be closed this week until Thursday, when a reevaluation of the situation is expected on whether or not the district’s schools will remain closed and for how long.
