Federal Court Sentencings
U.S. District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson recently sentenced 37-year-old Robert Wilson Hinkley of Cheyenne to 10 years in prison for possession of child pornography, second or subsequent conviction. Hinkley will also be on 10 years of supervised probation following his release from prison. According to information from the Department of Justice, Hinkley was on federal probation for a previous child pornography conviction and had prior state conviction for the same offense. Over 1,000 child pornography images were found on Hinkley’s laptop following a search by law enforcement. The case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Freudenthal sentenced 28-year-old Darrell Moss Jr. to 55 months’ imprisonment for assault by strangulation and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. According to court documents, Moss hit, bit and strangled the victim during an incident that occurred in October of 2022. The defendant was charged by information then pleaded guilty to the charges at a hearing in June. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kerry Jacobson.
