Sheridan Commission Approves Purchase of Incinerator

The Sheridan County Commission, during their meeting this week, considered the purchase of an incinerator for controlled substances that will be used by the Sheridan Police Department and the Sheridan County Sheriff.
County Administrative Director Cameron Duff said Police Chief Travis Koltiska had approached him with the idea to use federal funds for the purchase and explained the need further.
Duff explained that the county’s total funding from the opioid settlement was 315,000 and with the purchase of the incinerator for $5,821 and cost of the K-9 unit, the funds remaining for the county is roughly $299,000.
The commission voted to approve the purchase of the incinerator.
