Pat BlairFive students from Holy Name Catholic School advanced to state competition during National History Day earlier this week.
They are among eight Holy Name students who participated in the regional competition in Sheridan.
The state competition will be April 19 and 20 on the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie. Winners at the state level will compete in the national competition to be held in June in Maryland.
National History Day is an academic enrichment program for students in grades 6-12. Students choose topics connected to an annual theme and complete their own in-depth research, creating museum-style exhibits, media documentaries, research papers, interactive websites and dramatic performances. The theme this year is “Breaking Barriers.”
Holy Name students who will compete next month in Laramie include Peter LaRosa and John Paul Lansing, second place in group exhibit; Mason Smith, first place in individual documentary; Tennyson Lewallen, second place, individual documentary; and Sequoia Pack, second place, individual performance.
