Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Shawn McCallister, during his report to the board at their recent meeting, updated them on a number of subjects ranging from the installation of the new mammography machine to funds the facility will be getting from the county after their recent settlement on a tax protest.

McCallister said the county commission had sent the facility a letter telling them that due to the settlement with Carbon Creek Energy/Powder River Midstream the JCHC is owed $155,000.

Commissioner Linda Greenough, liaison to the hospital board, was asked when the funds might be distributed.

She said the county will do so as soon as they can.

The 3D Imaging/Mammography project is ahead of schedule. The new equipment has been installed and training and testing has begun.

The facility is expected to start 0using the new equipment on patients this month, and they have scheduled a public dedication ceremony on April 14th.

The JCHC is renegotiating the contract for radiology reading services with Sheridan Memorial Hospital, and a Telestroke Network contract has been put in place with the Wyoming Medical Center.

The facility has also renegotiated the contract for broadband internet services which will significantly increase speed for half of the cost.
