A release from the office of Buffalo Mayor Shane Schrader this week recognized two individuals that were given awards at the recent First Responders Dinner in Buffalo.

Joe Johnson with the Buffalo Police Department was named as the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, and Shawn Sullivan with Buffalo EMS was named as the EMT of the Year.

Mayor Schrader spoke highly of the two awards recipients.

Mayor Schrader said in the release “While I am certain it is difficult to pick out only one candidate from each entity, those chosen are very deserving of the award. Congrats Joe and Sean and a huge thank you to all first responders in Johnson County. Your contribution to our community is invaluable and does not go unnoticed.”

The mayor also thanked the Big Horn Baptist Church for putting on the dinner and awards banquet and the local business and people who donated gifts for the drawing.
