A recent student survey amongst students at Sheridan College shows that the college is around the same level with other colleges both in Wyoming and across the country.

Students recently participated in the Community College Survey Of Student Engagement, which is administered by about 200 colleges about once every 2 years.

Those who participated answered questions regarding active and collaborative learning, student effort, how they are challenged academically, student-faculty interaction and how the college supports learning.

Results for Sheridan College were within 4 points either way compared to the other Wyoming Community Colleges and nationwide.

College President Dr. Walter Tribley says aside from the questions that were already in the survey, the college wanted to find out a few other things as well.

“I thought the most interesting parts were our own custom questions where we learned about what our students might be interested in or when our students might want to come to class or how accessible we are, how easy we are to schedule or not. That data I think was very informative.”

Dr. Tribley says about 10% of the student population participated in the survey.

Fall semester classes are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 28th.
