Prepare, Register Now for First Annual Sandy Ward 5K

The Sandy Ward Memorial Couch to 5K Race is scheduled for June, but preparations and registrations will need to be done soon for those wanting to participate.

Tanya Connors, with the JCHC Rehabilitation Department, spoke to the Johnson County Commission at their recent meeting, saying the event was named after former Hospital CEO Sandy Ward, who himself was a fitness and outdoor enthusiast.

She explains how the rehab department will assist those wanting to “get off of the couch.”

A sign up and informational meeting will be on March 19^th in the healthcare center’s rehab department, and they will be taking registrations during the Health Fair on March 21^st.

The 10-week training program will begin Monday, April 20^th and continue until the event on June 27^th.
