Jennings “Very Much in Support” of Abortion Amendment to the State Budget

While the team of legislators tasked with reaching an acceptable compromise between the Senate and House versions of the budget bill continue their work, there is one portion of the legislation that is almost assuredly going to make it into the final file. A mirror amendment was ran in both bodies during their initial readings of the legislation that will become the state budget for the next two fiscal years that would disallow the University of Wyoming from allocating any funds under their control to support elective abortions or healthcare plans that provide elective abortions except under the circumstances established by state statute. Representative Mark Jennings, along with all of the other members of the local delegation, voted in favor of the amendment’s passage.
With the majority vote of both bodies going towards the amendment’s inclusion in the bill, it is all but guaranteed to remain a part of the end product.
