An October trial date was set in Fourth Judicial District Court for a Sheridan woman charged with felony abandoning or endangering children. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details. 41-year-old Lisa Floate pleaded not guilty to the charge at a recent arraignment hearing in District Court. The charge is being prosecuted as a felony because Floate was convicted of misdemeanor endangering children in Sheridan County Circuit Court on April 20, 2021.

District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a #4 stack three-day jury trial for October 30 and set the pretrial conference for October 12 at 10:30 am. Floate’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court. The crime of felony abandoning or endangering children is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
