Sheridan Man Arraigned for Drug Distribution
An arraignment hearing was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court for a man who was allegedly distributing drugs in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Between March 24 and April 13 of this year, 42-year-old Jonathan Stieve allegedly sold drugs to a confidential informant as part of an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. Stieve was arrested on April 13 and charged with six counts of delivery of a controlled substance. At an arraignment hearing Thursday in District Court, Stieve pleaded not guilty to all six counts. Three of the charges are for methamphetamine distribution, two of the charges are for distributing cocaine and one count is for the distribution of suboxone.
District Court Judge Darci Phillips set a two-day jury trial to begin on October 30 and scheduled a pretrial conference for September 14 at 11 am. Five of the six charges are each punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000. The delivery of a controlled substance – suboxone, is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
