US Forest Service To Close Roads Within Bighorn National Forest Due To Rain And Mud
The recent rains have created so much mud, that a lot of roads within the Bighorn National Forest have become impassable.
The U.S. Forest Service has announced an emergency road closure order will be issued on Friday (June 23rd).
There’s been above average precipitation in various areas and there’s been road and resource damage, caused by vehicles attempting to either travel through or around all the mud.
A forest service spokes-person says tickets have been and will continue to be written out to those who cause resource damage.
If a camper is on a closed road or on a road that’s in extreme conditions, owners are asked to leave the camper where it is and contact a local ranger station.

This is a great call! I personally recovered a stuck vehicle on the Buffalo side. People tried driving around it. It was an absolute mess!

God knows how much moisture . The drought is over. Respect the play grounds on the Big horn mtns. Don’t drive on 2 tracks.

Exactly. I bet the major roads like Black Mountain are not closed.
