Fishing Derby Numbers Down But Event Still a Success

The 39^th Annual Buffalo Lions Club Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby and Raffle happened this past Memorial Day Weekend, and although the numbers of those attending was slightly down this year, it was still a success and enjoyed by those who participated.

That is according to Lions Club member Jake Wright, who spoke with Sheridan Media about the derby.

Wright said the derby annually has upwards of $50,000 in prizes available to give away during the long weekend.

The grand prize this year was a Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail ATV, and was won by Mike Clements of Gillette.
