Flood Watch Issued For Sheridan And Several MT Counties: June 1-3, 2023

Residents who live in flood prone areas and/or along waterways need to pay attention to upcoming weather activity.
The National Weather Service Office in Billings, Montana has issued a flood watch for Sheridan County in Wyoming, as well as a number of counties in southern Montana.
Counties include Big Horn, Carbon, Yellowstone, Treasure and Rosebud.
The watch is in effect from noon Thursday (June 1st) until midnight Saturday (June 3rd).
Periods of showers and thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall is forecasted for the watch area.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
Burn scars may experience debris flow.
Those in flood prone areas should monitor later forecasts, be alert for possible flood warnings and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
