Johnson County Approves TANF Grant Assurance

Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved the chairman to sign an assurance page associated with the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Grant for the current year, a change from previous grant award procedures.

Commission Administrative Assistant Jody Telkamp explained what had changed and why.

Telkamp explained that the same beneficiaries and dollar amounts were approved for this year.

COMPASS Center will receive $25,000 for emergency assistance in their visitation program; the Boys & Girls Club will receive $20,000 for their after school programs; and the Buffalo Children’s Center will receive $16,000 for their before work/school program for a total award of $61,000 in the TANF Grant.
