Rural Health Board Moving Forward With Ambulance Barn Location

At their regular meeting this week, the Johnson County Rural Health Care District Board discussed their ambulance barn project which is slated to be built on their acquired property adjacent to the County Fire Hall on North Bypass Road.

Board President Britni Camino suggested having the entire board act as the Building Committee concerning the oversight of the project, instead of a few members, as the previous board had done.

Buffalo EMS Director Dave Harness again reiterated that he and his ambulance crews were not in favor of the proposed location of the ambulance barn.

He urged the board to not move forward with the project and look into other possible locations.

Camino said the location is the best option they have found.

Camino added that she thought there are ways to work through the process together, but she and the board are sensitive to the opposition to the location from Buffalo EMS.

She added, “at this time it is our best location with what we have.”
